Raayan box office collection day 2: Dhanush starrer thriller performs strong, earns Rs 13.75 Crore on opening weekend

Raayan is a high-octane drama unfolding in the raw landscape of North Chennai.

The action thriller, Raayan, directed by Dhanush, has earned in nearly Rs 28 crore at the box office, according to Sacnilk.com. The film is a Tamil production backed by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures.

Building on its initial success, Raayan further earned Rs 13.75 crore nett on Saturday, bringing its overall Indian collection to Rs 27.5 crore. Notably, the Tamil version of the film commanded a significant audience share, with an occupancy rate of 60.85% on Saturday.

Raayan garnered a strong opening weekend at the box office. The film collected a total of Rs 13.65 crore on its first day, with the Tamil version contributing Rs 11.85 crore, Telugu Rs 1.6 crore, and Hindi Rs 2 lakh.

The film witnessed varying audience turnout across different show timings. Night shows proved to be the most popular with an occupancy rate of 80.51%, followed by evening shows at 63.60%. Afternoon shows recorded occupancy of 60.04%, while morning shows had the lowest turnout with 39.24%.

While the Tamil version dominated with a 60.85% occupancy rate, the Telugu release also garnered significant attention, securing a 26.12% occupancy. However, the Hindi version struggled to find an audience, with a mere 11.20% occupancy. Expanding its reach beyond India, Raayan has collectively earned an estimated ₹20.7 crore worldwide.
