Pushpa 2: The Rule has made an incredible start at the box office, breaking several records and becoming one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024. The film, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, released on December 5, 2024. It has already earned a massive Rs 175.1 crore (nett) in India on its first day, making it the biggest opener of all time in India.

One of the most impressive aspects of Pushpa 2’s opening is that it surpassed the previous record set by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. The film collected Rs 72 crore from its Hindi version alone, which is higher than the Rs 64 crore earned by Jawan on its opening day. This makes Pushpa 2 the highest-grossing movie in Hindi for its first day.

The film was released globally on over 10,000 screens, a massive number that contributed to its record-breaking earnings. The premiere shows, which took place on December 4 in select areas like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Bengaluru, added another Rs 10.1 crore to its total, setting the stage for its huge opening day.

In terms of its performance across different languages, Pushpa 2 had a significant impact. The Telugu version alone earned Rs 85 crore nett, while the Tamil version brought in Rs 7 crore and the Malayalam version Rs 5 crore. These numbers show how the film has appealed to audiences across different regions of India.

The film's opening day performance has sparked a lot of excitement among industry experts and fans. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared that Pushpa 2 has become the all-time biggest Day 1 opener in India, and early estimates suggest that it could even surpass the opening day collections of RRR, which earned Rs 223 crore on its release day. However, official numbers are still awaited from the film's production house to confirm these estimates.

The cast of Pushpa 2 features Allu Arjun in the lead role, continuing his iconic portrayal of the character Pushpa Raj. Alongside him, Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, while Fahadh Faasil delivers a powerful performance as the antagonist. The film also includes notable actors like Anasuya Bharadwaj, Sunil, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, and Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari in important roles. A special cameo by actress Sreeleela has also generated a lot of buzz.
