Priyanka Chopra shares Rakha Bandhan post as she misses the festival

Despite being back in India for a movie shoot, Priyanka Chopra was unable to join her brother Siddharth Chopra in celebrating Raksha Bandhan this year.

Last week, the actress, who has been travelling the world with her daughter Malti Marie, arrived in the nation. She has since been occupied with filming her next movie, which is currently known as SSMB29 and was directed by SS Rajamouli.

Although work commitments kept her away, Priyanka ensured her love and presence were felt through a touching gesture on social media. On Saturday, she shared a heartfelt Raksha Bandhan message after her cousin Mannara Chopra stepped in to tie the rakhi on Siddharth’s behalf.

Mannara shared a photograph from the small celebration, which Priyanka later reposted with an emotional message: "Happy Rakshabandhan, Siddharth Chopra. Thank you, Mannara Chopra, for tying the rakhi on my behalf. Love you both." The gesture struck a chord with fans, who praised the family’s close bond.

Priyanka is currently filming the Indian schedule of SSMB29 in Hyderabad. The project, which features Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles, has kept its storyline under tight wraps.

However, it has been revealed that the film is an action-adventure drama, inspired by the iconic Indiana Jones franchise. This was confirmed by Rajamouli’s father, veteran screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad, in multiple interviews.

On the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s birthday, Rajamouli also unveiled a teaser poster announcing a major reveal in November 2025. The image showed a close-up of Mahesh’s chest adorned with a pendant featuring Lord Shiva’s trishul and Nandi, alongside the word "Globetrotter", suggesting this may be the film’s title. This marks the first collaboration between Mahesh Babu and the celebrated director.

Once SSMB29 wraps up, Priyanka is set to star in The Bluff, a period drama directed by Frank E. Flowers. Set in the 19th-century Caribbean, the film follows a former female pirate who must defend her family and village while facing the resurfacing of a mysterious past.
