Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is all set to make her comeback with Lahore 1947. However, the actress has recently made headlines for her personal and religious choices about raising her kids. The actress has recently responded to the critics who accused her of having a political inclination in her recent tweets.
Preity debunked the assumption and clarified that her recent visit to the temples of Maha Kumbh was part of her personal journey and it had nothing to do with political affiliations.
The actress responded, “That’s the problem with people on social media, everybody has become so judgemental off late. Going to a temple or the Maha Kumbh and being proud of who I am and my identity does not equate with me joining politics or BJP.”
In a separate tweet, the actress addressed the criticism about raising her kids, insisting that she wants them to understand the importance of her roots and culture after staying away from India.
She shared, “I’m sorry if I sounded abrupt ! I have PTSD from this question. Appreciate your clarification… After becoming a mom & living in a foreign country I wanna make sure my kids don’t forgot they are half Indian. Since my husband is agnostic we are bringing up our kids as Hindus.”
The actress added, “Sadly, I am facing constant criticism & this simple joy is being taken away by my choice being politicized all the time. I feel I need to keep answering for being who I am or having pride in teaching my kids about their roots & religion.”
She concluded her tweet, noting, “Chalo time to move on …Sending you lots of love n best wishes.”
Preity Zinta married Gene Goodenough in 2016 in a private ceremony after dating him for five years. The couple met in Los Angeles through a mutual friend. The couple welcomed twins, Jai and Gia, via surrogacy in 2021.
