After a long wait of 17 years, Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally etched their name in IPL history by lifting the coveted trophy. But while the RCB camp was erupting with happiness, heartbreak loomed large for Punjab Kings’ co-owner and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who was seen overwhelmed with emotion following the nail-biting finale on June 3.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the title in a fierce match on Tuesday, ending Punjab Kings' (PBKS) incredible run in the IPL 2025 season. Preity was clearly upset by the loss. As her team's hopes of winning a championship came to an end, the actress was seen leaving the stadium with a heavy heart in a number of videos and pictures that went viral on social media.
Preity looked sophisticated but profoundly moved in a traditional white kurta, a striking red dupatta, and a matching salwar. She left the pitch quietly after the final whistle, her face pale and her eyes full of unshed tears, her heartbreak obvious.

The 2025 IPL final was significant for Punjab Kings, who had been aiming for their first championship victory, as well as Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who were attempting to win their first title in an 18-year journey. Both sides had everything on the line in this matchup between two underdog legacies.
Following the match's emotional conclusion, Preity Zinta was also spotted making a sincere effort to console a number of players, including Shreyas Iyer. Netizens have responded favourably to her composed yet obviously heartbroken demeanour, with many praising her poise and her steadfast devotion to the Punjab Kings franchise, which she has carried since its founding.
One user wrote, " “#PreityZinta has tears in her eyes, as expected. She’s heartbroken again. I saw similar visuals in 2014." Another post read, "Bhai, yeh bhi to 18 saal se wait hi kar rahi hai." A user also wrote, "We can feel your pain Preity Zinta." Another comment pointed out, "Hope someday Punjab Kings wins the IPL trophy for Preity Zinta."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Preity Zinta will be seen in upcoming film Lahore 1947 after a long break from films.
