Pawan Kalyan responds to Karthi’s apology over Tirupati laddu controversy

Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan addressed Tamil actor Karthi's public apology regarding the controversial claims about the ingredients used in Tirupati laddus.

Karthi had apologized for laughing when asked about accusations that animal fat, such as beef fat and fish oil, was used in making the prasadam laddus at Tirupati’s Sri Venkateswara Temple.

Pawan Kalyan, taking to X (formerly Twitter), acknowledged Karthi's apology and praised his respectful response toward traditions. In his post, Pawan wrote,

“Dear @Karthi_Offl garu,I sincerely appreciate your kind gesture and swift response, as well as the respect you've shown towards our shared traditions. Matters concerning our sacred institutions, like Tirupati and its revered laddus, carry deep emotional weight for millions of devotees, and it’s essential for all of us to handle such topics with care.”

He continued by explaining that his intention wasn’t to cause offense but to raise awareness about the sensitivity of cultural and religious issues. "That said, I wanted to bring this to your notice with no intentions behind it, and I understand the situation was unintentional. Our responsibility as public figures is to foster unity and respect, especially regarding what we cherish most—our culture and spiritual values. Let's always strive to uplift these values while continuing to inspire through cinema." he added.

He emphasized the importance of being mindful as public figures and using their influence to uplift spiritual values while inspiring through cinema.

Additionally, Pawan Kalyan took the opportunity to send his best wishes to Karthi, Suriya, and Jyotika for their upcoming film Meiyazhagan, which is releasing in Telugu as Sathyam Sundaram. He wrote, “I would also like to express my admiration for you as a remarkable actor whose dedication and talent have consistently enriched our cinema. The Tirupati laddu controversy erupted after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat was used in the laddus during the previous administration.

This led to a heated political exchange between Naidu and the YSRCP, with both sides making allegations for political gains.
