The latest example of cross-border virality comes not from politics or controversy, but from a wedding dance floor in Pakistan. A choreographed performance set to the title track of Dhurandhar has taken over social media, surprising many with how effortlessly the Bollywood thriller’s music has travelled across borders.

The video, shared widely on Instagram, shows a groom’s side dance troupe delivering a crisp, high-energy routine that has instantly turned into an internet favourite.

Posted by Instagram user M Abdullah Rafique, the clip features a lead dancer guiding a perfectly drilled group, all dressed in coordinated black at a wedding in Pakistan.

Their timing is tight, the transitions are clean and the confidence is unmistakable. Guests can be seen cheering as the dancers move through formations with the kind of precision usually reserved for stage performances. It’s the sort of sequence that makes you stop scrolling for a moment, which explains how quickly it went viral.

What this really suggests is that Dhurandhar’s music has tapped into familiar cultural roots while finding a new audience. The title track, composed by Shashwat Sachdev and Charanjit Ahuja, is built on Na De Dil Pardesi Nu, a Punjabi folk gem that has been revived and reinterpreted across decades. The original from the mid-1990s, sung by Muhammad Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur, later morphed into Panjabi MC’s 2003 global hit Jogi. Each version has carried the tune into a different era, and Dhurandhar marks its third major evolution.

That blend of nostalgia and fresh production is part of why the song is slipping so easily into weddings, reels and everyday playlists. South Asian celebrations are quick to adopt high-tempo tracks, but seeing a Pakistani wedding team dance to the soundtrack of an Indian espionage film adds an unexpected layer of cultural symmetry.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar itself is enjoying a strong theatrical run. The film, starring Ranveer Singh as undercover operative Hamza Ali Mazari, brings together a cast that includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. It mixes espionage with political drama and high-stakes action, weaving its narrative around an operative navigating Pakistan’s criminal and political networks.

The viral dance clip has earned applause from viewers across India and Pakistan, who admire the group’s coordination and stage presence. Words like sharp, electric and well-rehearsed dominate comments online. Some users admit they discovered the song through the wedding performance before hearing it in the film.

Dhurandhar may be rooted in theatres, but its music is already moving freely through digital timelines and celebrations. A title track that jumps borders and lands on a Pakistani dance floor says a lot about how shared culture finds its own pathways, no matter where it begins.
