Fans of One Piece have reason to celebrate as Netflix unveiled the final trailer for One Piece Season 2 — and it feels bigger, bolder and far more emotional than ever before.
The new season, which premieres on 10 March, sees Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates venturing into the legendary Grand Line, a place where dreams are tested and danger lurks at every turn.
Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, returns alongside Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero) and Sanji (Taz Skylar). Together, they leave familiar waters behind and head into a stretch of ocean that, in the world of pirates, separates the hopeful from the heroic. Their goal remains the same — to find the One Piece treasure — but the road ahead looks far more unforgiving.
The trailer opens with a line that captures the spirit of the show: “What’s a pirate? A pirate is someone who has adventures and dreams and never ever gives up.” It’s a reminder of why audiences fell in love with Monkey D. Luffy in the first place.
Yet the optimism quickly meets reality, with ominous warnings from Baroque Works agents: “You’re going to watch your friends die.” The message is clear — the Grand Line will not be kind.
Visually, the world has expanded. Strange islands, larger battles and new adversaries fill the screen. From Reverse Mountain to Whisky Peak and Little Garden, the scale feels more ambitious. At the heart of it all, however, remains the bond between the crew.
As showrunner Joe Tracz told Tudum, “At the end of the first season, our characters made this pledge around a barrel to achieve their dreams. We’re going to see how those dreams are put to the test." He added, "Every place they stop in the Grand Line is going to test one of the Straw Hats in a unique way. And they’re going to learn that if they’re going to fulfil their dreams, they have to have each other’s backs."
The official synopsis reads, "ONE PIECE, returns for Season 2—unleashing fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet. Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies."

One of the most heartwarming additions is Tony Tony Chopper, voiced by Mikaela Hoover, whose appearance has already sparked emotional reactions. “Choppers story is going to make everyone cry this season. Peak piece is back,” wrote one fan. Another added, “It looks absolutely incredible! I'm beyond impressed. I'm genuinely tearing up seeing One Piece come to life so beautifully.”
After Season 1 became a global sensation, topping charts in 75 countries and earning nearly 100 million views — expectations are undeniably high. Eiichiro Oda encouraged viewers to embrace what lies ahead, writing, “Let yourself be drawn into an immersive experience that’s unique to live-action.”
