Aditya Dhar’s action-thriller Dhurandhar, headlined by Ranveer Singh, has made a powerful impact following its digital release on Netflix, continuing its strong momentum well beyond Indian borders. Since its streaming debut, the film has emerged as a global performer, topping Netflix charts not just in India but worldwide.
The film has secured the No. 1 position on Netflix’s global Top 10 non-English films list, while simultaneously ranking No. 1 in India and No. 1 in Pakistan—a remarkable streaming feat that cuts through the region’s long-standing theatrical and political divides.
According to Netflix’s Tudum weekly chart (Jan. 26–Feb. 1), Dhurandhar ranked No. 1 worldwide among non-English films, amassing 7.6 million views during the week. The data further shows the film holding the top spot in Netflix’s Top 10 Movies lists in both India and Pakistan, underlining its wide cross-border appeal.
Beyond these two key markets, the film is also performing strongly across South Asia, with chart-topping or near-top rankings in countries such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, reinforcing its resonance across the region and extending its reach well beyond its home base.
The film’s popularity in Pakistan is particularly striking, given that a significant portion of its narrative is set in Karachi. Dhurandhar unfolds in Lyari, following the journey of an Indian undercover operative who infiltrates the city’s criminal underworld, balancing intense personal risk against national duty. The narrative also touches upon key geopolitical moments, including the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and the 2001 Parliament attack, adding layers of political tension to the story.
Despite not receiving a theatrical release in Pakistan, the film has been widely embraced by audiences there through OTT streaming, propelling it to the very top of Netflix’s local charts and highlighting the platform’s ability to bypass traditional release barriers.
Outside South Asia, Dhurandhar is also charting strongly across parts of the Middle East. According to Netflix data, the film is currently ranked No. 1 in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman, regions where India–Pakistan political sensitivities often make theatrical releases for such content complex or commercially risky.

With its digital success continuing to grow, anticipation is already building for the sequel. The film’s second installment, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, and its teaser has already generated significant buzz among fans.
