Allu Arjun's upcoming film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule,' directed by Sukumar, has made headlines as its digital rights have been sold to Netflix for an impressive Rs 275 crore. This news comes shortly after the announcement that Anil Thadani acquired the North India distribution rights for a substantial Rs 200 crore.

The deal with Netflix sets a new benchmark for digital rights sales in Indian cinema, significantly surpassing the previous record held by the film 'RRR,' which was directed by SS Rajamouli and had its digital rights sold for Rs 170 crore. The agreement with Netflix includes a base price of Rs 250 crore with potential bonuses that could increase the total to Rs 300 crore, depending on the film’s box office performance.

'Pushpa 2', made on a budget of around Rs 500 crore, continues the story from the first film, 'Pushpa: The Rise,' which managed to earn Rs 125 crore in Hindi regions alone despite being released during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sequel is one of the most anticipated releases, expected to attract audiences across India and set new records at the box office.

The film's release is scheduled for August 15, 2024. The filmmakers have already begun promoting it with a sneak peek featuring Allu Arjun in his character as Pushpa. The production is currently ongoing, with the team aiming to complete shooting by the end of May.

In addition to Allu Arjun, 'Pushpa 2' stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. The film features music by DSP (Devi Sri Prasad), who is known for his work in Telugu cinema. The original 'Pushpa' film gained widespread attention for its engaging storytelling and strong performances, and expectations are high for this sequel to deliver even more thrilling cinematic experiences.

As we approach the film’s release, more updates and promotional materials are expected to be released, building anticipation among fans and cinema-goers alike. Keep an eye on further announcements as 'Pushpa 2' promises to be one of the major cinematic events in 2024.
