Nicki Minaj has once again openly reaffirmed her support for President Donald Trump, calling herself his biggest fan and revealing that she is now a US citizen.
The rapper made these comments at a Treasury Department–hosted summit in Washington, DC, organised to launch “Trump Accounts” for newborn babies. The event took place on Wednesday.
Addressing the audience, Nicki said, “I will say that I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan. And that’s not going to change."
The 43-year-old artist further added, “The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more."

Minaj made it clear that criticism over her political views has not influenced her stance in any way. She dismissed the backlash and suggested that much of the opposition toward Trump is the result of coordinated smear campaigns.

Born Onika Maraj, the rapper also reflected on how her political position has evolved. During the 2020 election cycle, she had distanced herself from Trump and said she wouldn’t “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon.” However, her position has visibly shifted in recent years.
Last month, Minaj surprised many with her appearance at Turning Point USA’s annual conference, where she openly praised the president. “I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president,” she said at the time.
She went on to say, “He has, I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact. He’s from Queens, New York, like me,” she added.
During Wednesday’s summit, Trump returned the praise, calling Nicki Minaj the “greatest and most successful female rapper in history.” He also thanked her for donating “hundreds of thousands of dollars” toward the Trump accounts initiative. “I just think she’s great,” Trump said about Minaj.
“I didn’t know Nicki, and I’ve been hearing over the years she’s a big Trump supporter, or Trump fan. And she took a little heat on occasion because her community isn’t necessarily a Trump fan,” he added.
In a lighter exchange on stage, Trump joked about Minaj’s long, painted nails while briefly holding her hand. “I’m going to let my nails grow because I love those nails. I’m going to let those nails grow,” he told the crowd, drawing laughter.
Minaj left the stage soon after delivering her remarks, while Trump continued addressing the audience. Later, the President commented on his voter outreach, saying, "We did pretty well with your community," in reference to his support among Black voters.
