Nicki Minaj and Cardi B reignited their long-standing fight on X, leaving fans shocked with a series of pointed tweets. The drama flared up again when both rappers announced their new albums simultaneously.

It all began when Nicki Minaj suggested that Cardi B had inflated sales for her new album, Am I the Drama?, to earn the September 29 double platinum certification. Cardi B fired back, showing who she thinks is really “the drama.”

After the numbers were brought into the argument, Nicki shared a photo of an eagle, hinting that she is above the conflict. In response, Cardi B called her “Cocaine Barbie,” referencing both her substance issues and a nickname given to her by fans.

On September 29, Cardi wrote, “Why you keep bringing up my album?? It’s not the gag that you think it is. You’ve been in the game like 16 years… you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time.” She pointed out artists like Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Drake, who all released albums in the late 2000s, implying that these are the people Nicki should be measuring herself against.

Cardi continued, “Those are the numbers you need to be competing with and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them. I was in high school when you came out wtf is you comparing yourself to me for???”

Nicki then shaded Cardi further in a now-deleted tweet, mocking the $4.99 price of Am I the Drama? and calling her “Barney Dangerous.” She also took aim at Cardi’s track Magnet, writing, “Abcdefgeeeee / Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyy / RUNNING TRAINS / barefoot, still smellyyyy / Still. you. Could. Not. outsell. meeeee.” She even targeted Cardi’s appearance, suggesting she had cosmetic surgery to look like Nicki.

Cardi B didn’t hold back either. She teased Nicki about streaming her own track Magnet multiple times, saying, “Damn she was streaming Magnet hard as hell huh??” She also took a harsher jab by bringing up Nicki’s brother Jelani Maraj’s sexual assault conviction.
