Jack Black recently announced the abrupt termination of Tenacious D's global tour following controversy ignited by bandmate Kyle Gass. During a performance in Sydney, Australia, Gass's offhand remark concerning Donald Trump's assassination attempt sparked widespread backlash.
While celebrating his 64th birthday on stage, Gass reportedly quipped, "Don’t miss Trump next time,” prompting a swift and unexpected reaction.

Expressing his surprise and disappointment, Black took to Instagram to share how he was “blindsided” by this comment.
“I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Saturday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form. After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding,” Black wrote.

Kyle Gass took to Instagram to issue a statement. He said, "The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologise to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”
Gass also split with his agent after the incident.
“Due to what occurred, we have parted ways," Michael Greene of Greene Talent stated.
Although, many were laughing at Gass’ statement about the Trump shooting incident, many also had an angry reaction to it. X owner Elon Musk called it “evil.”
