On June 12, 2024, Jin, the oldest member of BTS, officially completed his mandatory military service and received a warm welcome from his fellow BTS members RM, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Jin took to Weverse to express his gratitude. He thanked the reporters who attended his discharge, saying, "Thank you so much to the people and reporters that came and took pretty discharge pictures." He also extended his appreciation to the dedicated BTS fanbase, ARMY, who gathered outside HYBE's building to celebrate his return. Jin acknowledged the massive crowd and mentioned his desire to greet them personally, but he realised that it could cause chaos due to the sheer number of fans present. Despite this, he emphasised his deep gratitude, stating, "Our ARMY is the best."

Jin's discharge ceremony took place in the morning at the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province. His fellow BTS members, RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, welcomed him with warm hugs. RM added to the celebration by playing BTS's hit song Dynamite on the saxophone, creating a festive atmosphere.
During his military service, Jin excelled in various aspects, including marksmanship, physical fitness, and mental fortitude, earning the prestigious title of a special warrior. His outstanding performance led to early promotions and his appointment as a drill instructor at the training center, showcasing his dedication and leadership.
