Singer AP Dhillon chose to begin 2026 in a way that felt quiet, grounded and deeply meaningful. Instead of ringing in the New Year with fireworks or a packed concert, he spent New Year’s Day at the Longewala Post in Rajasthan, alongside personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF).

The visit was a conscious shift away from the spotlight, allowing the singer to recognise and honour the soldiers who stand guard at one of India’s most historic border locations.

AP Dhillon didn’t treat the visit as a brief appearance. He spent time speaking with the soldiers, listening to their stories and learning about what life looks like on the frontline.

From daily routines and traditions to the emotional weight of being stationed far from family, the singer took in the realities of border duty with genuine curiosity and respect.

Those present described the interactions as warm and unfiltered, with AP Dhillon eager to understand the experiences of the men protecting the nation.

Sharing moments from the day on social media, AP Dhillon posted a video and a short note reflecting on what the visit meant to him.

He wrote, “Meeting the brave BSF soldiers at Longewala Post to start off the New Year. Grateful for the sacrifices they make each and every day to keep us and our families safe (sic).”

The video showed him chatting with soldiers, observing their daily activities and quietly absorbing the discipline and camaraderie that define life at the post.

One moment that stood out saw AP Dhillon being taught how to perform a proper military salute.

The singer followed the instructions carefully, smiling as the soldiers guided him through the gesture. It was a small but powerful moment that captured his humility and respect for the customs and values upheld by the BSF.

The visit came shortly after AP Dhillon wrapped up his “One of One” India tour, a busy stretch that saw him perform across several major cities.

After weeks of travelling and performing for massive crowds, the decision to start the year in the company of soldiers felt reflective and intentional.
