In a heartwarming move to honor his wife, actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Mumbai-based gallerist Nicholai Sachdev has announced that he and their daughter will take on the actor's name to preserve her legacy. The couple tied the knot in Thailand on July 3, and Nicholai made this touching revelation during a press conference in Chennai.

 
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, known for her powerful performances in South Indian cinema, and Nicholai Sachdev, who runs a gallery in Mumbai, have captured the public's attention with their recent marriage. Nicholai's announcement at the press meet was both surprising and deeply sentimental. He stated, "She [Varalaxmi] said that she wants to change her name after marriage. Of course, she'd never lose Sarathkumar in the middle, but she wanted to add Sachdev to her name. But, I will not have that."

 
Nicholai further elaborated on his decision, saying, "She will always remain and retain her name as Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. I will be taking her name. I will be known as Nicholai Varalaxmi Sarathkumar Sachdev. And so will my daughter, so Sarathkumar and my wife Varalaxmi's legacy will live on forever. That's what I am going to do for my wife."

 
The couple's journey to this decision began with their engagement in March. They hosted a grand wedding reception in Chennai that saw the attendance of several prominent political leaders and celebrities. The guest list included Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, his son Udhayanidhi Stalin, legendary actor Rajinikanth, AR Rahman, Atlee, Balakrishna, Jackie Shroff, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Kichcha Sudeep, and Mani Ratnam, among others.
