Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Kalki 2898 AD' will release in June, a look at the new poster

'Kalki 2898 AD' is a science fiction film that combines elements of Indian mythology with futuristic storytelling. The film spans 6,000 years, beginning with the era of the Mahabharata and stretching into 2898 AD.

The highly awaited sci-fi film 'Kalki 2898 AD,' featuring stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, is set to release on June 27, 2024. The film’s new release date was announced through an updated poster, shared on the official X account of the movie. The poster shows Deepika, Prabhas, and Amitabh standing together in a desert-like setting with the release date prominently displayed.

A week before this announcement, the filmmakers released a teaser that introduced Amitabh Bachchan's character, Ashwatthama. In the teaser, he is seen praying in front of a Shiva linga inside a cave. When a child asks who he is, he responds, "Since ancient times, I have awaited the arrival of the Avatar. I am Guru Drona’s son, Ashwatthama." This scene, showcasing his character in a de-aged look, quickly became popular online.

During the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon, Nag shared insights into the creative process behind the film, explaining how they envisioned and built the worlds in the film while keeping them authentically Indian.

The movie also made waves on the festival of Maha Shivaratri when another poster was released revealing Prabhas’s character name as Bhairava, adding to the intrigue and mythological connections of the storyline.

With its star-studded cast and innovative concept, 'Kalki 2898 AD' is one of the most anticipated releases, promising to offer a unique blend of mythology and science fiction to its audience.
