The executives for Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service Max (Formerly known as HBO Max) Casey Bloys and JB Perrette recently sat down for a conversation with Variety and spilled the beans on Sam Levinson’s highly successful project ‘Euphoria.’
When asked what is going on with the third season of the acclaimed show, Casey Bloys said, “[Creator and writer] Sam [Levinson] is working on it. There’s been a lot of back and forth … One of the issues I think that Sam is thinking about is that he doesn’t want to have it in high school anymore. That’s where it was set and what made sense then. So when you take it out of that, there’s a lot of back and forth about where to set it and how far in the future to set it and all that stuff. But I think he’s got a take that he’s excited about, and he’s busy writing.”
The publication also asked Bloys whether the show will continue with the same cast including including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer or move ahead with a different one.
“It’s the same core cast,” he said.
According to Deadline, the shooting for the third season of ‘Euphoria’ is expected to begin later this year. It is eyeing a 2025 release.
These reports have been circulating since a while but even the lead of the show, Zendaya, is unaware about what is exactly happening.
“If it’s right for the characters and everything turns out the way it should, of course. But it’s beyond me,” Zendaya said on the premiere of ‘Challengers.’
HBO announced the postponement of the third season in March saying that Sam Levinson “remain committed to making an exceptional third season.”
“In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities,” an HBO spokesperson added.
Will we ever get to know what happens to Rue and the suitcase that Laurie gave her? Sigh, who knows.
