Oscar-winning musician A.R. Rahman and his wife, Saira, have filed for divorce after 29 years of marriage. Just hours after this announcement, Rahman's bassist Mohini Dey also filed for divorce from her husband, Mark Hurtsuch.
Mohini Dey took to her social media to make this announcement.
The timing of both announcements sparked curiosity among netizens, who are left wondering about the possible connection between the two divorces.
Mohini took to her stories section of Instagram to address the ongoing rumours and wrote, "I've been getting a humungous amount of requests for interviews and I know exactly what its about so, I have to respectfully turn each one down because I am not interested in fueling into ABSOLUTE BS. I believe my energy is not worth spending on RUMOURS. Kindly, respect my privacy."

Earlier today, A.R. Rahman's daughter, Raheema Rahman, responded to the rumors, angrily calling out trolls for spreading false speculations and lies about the situation.
Raheema shared a note that read, "Always remember... Rumours are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots." She added, "Honestly, get a life," expressing her frustration with the ongoing rumors.
Rahman's son, Ameen, also responded strongly to the rumors surrounding his parents' separation and their connection to Mohini Dey. Calling his father a "legend," he expressed, "It’s disheartening to see false and baseless rumors being spread. Let us all remember the importance of truth and respect when speaking about someone’s life and legacy. Please refrain from engaging in or spreading such misinformation. Let’s honor and preserve his dignity and the incredible impact he has had on all of us."
