Krrish 4 is finally moving. After years of speculation, Rakesh Roshan has confirmed that the fourth installment of Bollywood’s most-loved superhero franchise will hit screens in 2027. But here’s the twist—this time, Hrithik Roshan is taking charge behind the camera.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh revealed that scripting wasn’t the challenge. “The script didn’t take a lot of time. The pressure was the budgeting. Now that we have an idea of the definite budget required for this film, we’ll be starting the film.” he said.
“The work is going on in full swing. We are going to start the shoot of the film by the middle of next year. This is because the pre-production is much more extensive in this film. Hence, we have to be well-prepared before we go on floors,” Rakesh added.
For fans, that’s both exciting and a bit of a wait. But given the scale of Krrish, the extended prep makes sense. The franchise, which started with Koi… Mil Gaya in 2003, has grown into one of India’s few homegrown superhero sagas.
Interestingly, Hrithik himself seems equal parts thrilled and nervous about directing.
At an event in the US, the actor admitted, "I am afraid and nervous. I feel like I’m back in kindergarten. It seems I have to grow up in a whole different way all over again. It’s going to be a new challenge — uncertainties, seeking, searching. I’m sure there will be moments where I feel like I’ve made the wrongest decision ever. And in my alone moments — the moments when I feel fear, I will remember you all, and I will remember the love."

Rakesh, meanwhile, got a bit emotional. In a note to Hrithik, whom he fondly calls Duggu, he wrote that 25 years after launching him in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, he is now reintroducing him, this time not just as a star, but as a filmmaker.
With the Roshan father-son duo once again teaming up, Krrish 4 isn’t just another film but a wait over for fans after Krrish 3, which was released in 2013.
