Do Patti, Netflix’s latest hit directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and penned by Kanika Dhillon, made a strong debut last week, claiming the 4 spot on the Global Top 10 Non-English Films list.

With Kajol and Kriti Sanon leading a gripping story, the film quickly found an audience in 18 countries, including Canada, Indonesia, and Malaysia, during its opening week.

The film also marks Shaheer Sheikh’s entry into Hindi cinema with a striking transformation from his romantic image, playing Dhruv Sood—a character both charming and edgy.

Co-produced by Dhillon’s Kathha Pictures and Sanon’s Blue Butterfly Films, Do Patti showcases Sanon in a compelling dual role as twins Saumya and Shailee, while Kajol shines as Vidya Jyothi, a fearless cop on her digital film debut.

In Do Patti, Kriti Sanon also proved her versatility by seamlessly embodying two distinct characters, showcasing her talent for adapting to complex roles with ease. Tackling a challenging double role, she delivers both characters with depth and distinction, bringing unique nuances to each portrayal. The film doesn’t shy away from spotlighting a pressing issue often overlooked—domestic violence—adding a layer of social relevance to the suspenseful narrative.

Set in the fictional Devipur, the film explores sibling rivalry and hidden dangers. After bruises on Saumya raise concerns about her relationship with Dhruv, Vidya’s suspicions are piqued. But when an attempted murder disrupts the peace, Vidya is pulled into a race against time to uncover the truth, in a story where every secret reveals a darker layer.
