Netflix is gearing up to start 2026 with a fresh twist on fantasy romance with No Tail to Tell, a twelve-episode Korean series that blends mythology, love, and a playful take on modern celebrity culture.
Written by Park Chan-young and Jo Ah-young, and directed by Kim Jung-kwon, the show stars Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon, exploring what happens when immortality meets the chaos of fame.
The series is set to premiere on January 16, 2026, and will stream globally on Netflix alongside its domestic broadcast on SBS TV. Fans can look forward to two episodes every Friday and Saturday until February 21, 2026, offering a steady dose of magic, humour, and heartfelt storytelling.
The official trailer for No Tail to Tell has already given viewers a glimpse into its whimsical yet emotionally charged world. Sharing it on social media, Netflix summed up the quirky premise perfectly:
“She’s a gumiho who wants nothing to do with being human. He’s a soccer star who loves himself a little too much. What could possibly go wrong? No Tail To Tell, coming to Netflix on January 16! #NoTailToTell #KimHyeYoon #Lomon”
The teaser hints at magic spilling into reality, chaotic celebrity moments, and a reluctant romance that begins after one irreversible mistake. With stunning visuals, sharp humour, and a fairytale-like tone set in a contemporary world, the series promises a story that’s as entertaining as it is heartfelt.
At the heart of the story is Eun-ho, a nine-tailed fox who has lived for centuries, immortal and all-powerful. Unlike the usual gumiho tales, Eun-ho has no interest in becoming human. She enjoys observing people, reading their stories, and occasionally using her powers to understand them better, all while keeping her distance.
Everything changes when she meets Kang Si-yeol, a football star obsessed with fame and admiration. A chaotic turn of events strips Eun-ho of her powers, forcing her to live as a human and confront vulnerability, emotions, and mortality for the first time.
Kim Hye-yoon brings depth to Eun-ho, balancing centuries of detachment with newfound vulnerability, while Lomon plays Kang Si-yeol, whose charm and arrogance hide insecurities and loneliness. The supporting cast, including Lee Si-woo, Choi Seung-yoon, Joo Jin-mo, and others, enrich the story, creating a world where myth, celebrity, and human emotion collide beautifully.

Produced by Binge Works and MOG Films, No Tail to Tell reinvents a familiar K-drama trope, showing romance as disruption rather than destiny, and exploring questions of identity, power, and honesty.
The series premieres January 16, 2026, on SBS TV in South Korea and streams globally on Netflix, with two episodes released weekly until February 21, 2026. It promises magic, laughter, and heart in equal measure.
