In a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 16, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan shared a personal anecdote that gave viewers a glimpse into his vulnerabilities, a side not often seen in the otherwise stoic and towering personality. During the show, Bachchan revealed that despite his on-screen bravado, he is actually scared of riding bikes, a confession that came as a surprise to many of his fans.

The conversation started when Bachchan, in his usual engaging style, began interacting with a contestant named Dr. Raghavendra, who happened to be a Sanskrit professor with a passion for riding Bullet bikes. As the contestant talked about his love for biking and his travels on two wheels, Bachchan shared his own experiences with motorcycles, particularly during the filming of the iconic movie Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.

Recalling his experience, Bachchan said, “People think I am an amazing biker but I don’t like it.” He elaborated that despite what fans might think, he has always been scared of riding bikes. The revelation was both unexpected and relatable, as it showcased the human side of an actor often perceived as larger-than-life.

Bachchan went on to describe a particular scene from Muqaddar Ka Sikandar where he had to ride a bike. “But I was really scared when I was riding the bike and I had to even sing and leave my hands off the handles so yes. People think I am an amazing biker but I don't like it. I am really scared that I would meet with an accident.” This scene, where he had to ride a bike without holding the handlebars while also singing, was undoubtedly challenging, even for a seasoned actor like him. The fear of losing control and the potential danger it posed was something that stayed with him.

The confession that he doesn't enjoy riding bikes despite having performed such stunts on-screen adds a layer of depth to Bachchan’s persona. It also highlights the reality that acting often requires individuals to step out of their comfort zones and perform tasks that they might find daunting or uncomfortable. For Amitabh Bachchan, the role of an action hero who fearlessly rides a bike was just that—an act.

During the same conversation, Bachchan reflected on the nature of acting and how it requires one to portray emotions and skills that they might not possess in real life. “We are all actors and when the camera starts rolling we have to depict that we know how to ride the bike.”

For years, Amitabh Bachchan has been seen as the epitome of the ‘angry young man’ in Indian cinema, a persona that exudes strength, resilience, and fearlessness. However, his admission on KBC reveals a different side to this image, showing that beneath the tough exterior lies a man who has his own set of fears and apprehensions.

This episode of KBC not only entertained the audience but also provided an insightful look into the making of an actor and the complexities of the roles they play.
