Singer Katy Perry recently announced her engagement to long-time boyfriend Orlando Bloom, revealing their plans for an extravagant wedding.
The couple originally intended to tie the knot a few years ago, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to postpone their nuptials. Initially slated for 2020, the wedding had to be cancelled.
Now, Katy is excitedly moving forward with their grand wedding plans, sharing intricate details about the preparations with her fans.
During a chat on the Heart Radio Breakfast show, Katy Perry confirmed her engagement to Orlando Bloom and shared that they will be getting married soon. She explained, “Yes, we are engaged. I was going to get married, and then COVID happened. Now, I have a really large credit at a venue that I am going to use,” as reported.
The "Roar" singer initially planned to have the wedding in 2020 while she was expecting their daughter, Daisy, who was born in August 2020. Katy mentioned that she has made changes to her wedding dress since the original was designed to accommodate her pregnancy. “I was pregnant then, so the dress is different now. We are going to rework the whole thing,” she said.
Additionally, Katy revealed that the celebrations won't stop at their wedding, as she has big plans for her 40th birthday in October.
The "Dark Horse" singer is gearing up for a major world tour in support of her upcoming seventh album, 143. After taking a hiatus to focus on her daughter, Katy Perry is thrilled to return to the stage. She shared, “I'm putting together a massive tour, which will be announced soon, and I'm excited to see the world again."
Reflecting on her time away, she added, "I had my daughter, and then COVID happened, so it's been an extended break. But now, I'm eager to bring my joy and light back to the world."
