Comedian and television personality Kapil Sharma has finally spoken out about the recent firing incident that took place at his Surrey-based restaurant, Kap’s Café, in Canada.

The unsettling event, which occurred on 10 July, involved multiple gunshots being fired at the café in the early hours of the morning. Fortunately, no one was harmed.

Kapil addressed the incident publicly for the first time on Sunday via Instagram, expressing his gratitude to local officials who showed their support in the aftermath. In a video shared on his account, Sharma, accompanied by his wife Ginni Chatrath, is seen welcoming police officers and civic leaders to the café.

He wrote, “Thank you Mayor Brenda Locke, @surreypoliceservice and all the officials who visited @thekapscafe_ to show their love and support. United we stand against violence. We’re truly grateful.”

A statement posted on the official Instagram page of Kap’s Café also acknowledged the show of solidarity. “We are truly honoured to have @themayorofsurrey, members of @surreypoliceservice, and other respected officials visit @thekapscafe_. Your support and presence mean a lot to us and to the community we serve. Thank you for taking the time to stop by (sic).”

The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. when several rounds were fired, leaving the café’s windows riddled with bullet holes. The Surrey Police Service responded promptly, securing the area and launching an investigation. Despite the initial shock and damage to the property, the café resumed operations and reopened its doors to the public on 20 July.
