Indian filmmaker and screenwriter Narasimha Murthy, who is best known for his work in the Kannada film industry, has recently created history in the cinema world by creating the world’s first AI-generated feature film titled Love You.
According to TOI, Murthy has reflected on the film and said, “Every frame, every song, every moment, it’s AI-crafted. We didn’t use a single human performer.”
He added, “This is not just a film; it’s the beginning of a new way to tell stories,” Murthy says. “We’re stepping into a future where humans and machines can collaborate creatively, and it’s thrilling that Kannada cinema is leading the way.”
Murthy directed and produced the 5-minute romantic drama with the help of Artificial Intelligence without any actors, musicians, or cameramen. The film was notably made on a budget of Rs 10 lakh. Murthy, who also serves at the Bagalagunte Anjaneya Temple in Bengaluru, crafted the film using 30 AI tools.
The full-length film featured AI-generated characters and 12 songs. Murthy himself penned the dialogues and lyrics of the film. Meanwhile, graphic designer-turned-AI technician, Nuthan, is behind the AI production.
Sundar Raj Gundurao guided the film's creative direction, while Nutan and Murthy brought the vision to life with precise execution, achieving something truly groundbreaking.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially granted Love You a U/A certificate. The film notably became the first AI-made film ever approved for theatrical release in India.
However, the makers have yet to reveal the release date of Love You, but the film has already created enough buzz among the fans. Additionally, the reports have suggested that the AI-generated film will be released in worldwide theatres soon.
