Jio Studios acquires majority stake in Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment

Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited has acquired a 50.1% stake in Sikhya Entertainment, strengthening Jio Studios’ presence in the media and entertainment space. Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited (RSBVL), a fully owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, strengthened Jio Studios' position in the media and entertainment industry by acquiring a 50.1% share in Sikhya Entertainment.

The partnership combines Sikhya Entertainment's track record of globally engaging, culturally based storytelling with Jio Studios' scale, reach, and long-term vision.

Jio Studios, which connects viewers at scale and supports movies and television shows with a strong creative and commercial conviction, has been a major player in India's entertainment economy.

By creating iconic films like Dhurandhar, Lapataa Ladies, and the Stree franchise, the studio has proven its capacity to consistently find defining stories and develop them for broad audiences. It has also become a major player in the nation's changing content economy.

Sikhya Entertainment, which was founded by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, has revolutionised Indian storytelling on the global scene in the last ten years. The fact that Sikhya is the only Indian production company to have won many National Film Awards in addition to an Academy Award highlights its unique influence both domestically and internationally.

She added, “Over the last seven years, Jio Studios has built a strong track record of producing and championing some of the most successful box office winners and critically acclaimed films alike, from the most recent phenomenon Dhurandhar to Stree 2 and Laapataa Ladies which went all the way to the Oscars. I have known Guneet for a very long time and really admire her fire and tenacity.”
