Divya Khossla Kumar recently criticized Alia Bhatt for allegedly misrepresenting the success of her film Jigra.
The situation escalated when producer Karan Johar, who is the co-producer of Jigra, appeared to respond cryptically to her remarks.
The ongoing feud between Divya and the Karan Johar has captured public attention and sparked lively discussions on social media.
On Saturday, Divya took to Instagram with a scathing post, alleging that Jigra was not performing well at the box office. She stated, “Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. The theatre was totally empty... all theatres going empty everywhere. #AliaBhatt, me sach mein bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets kharide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #WeShallNotFoolTheAudience #TruthOverLies #HappyDussehra.” Her remarks suggested that Alia and her team were inflating the film's opening figures.
In a seemingly indirect response, Karan Johar shared a quote on his Instagram stories stating, “Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools.” While he did not explicitly name Divya, the implication was clear.
Unfazed, Divya retaliated by posting, “Truth will always offend fools opposed to it.” She also added another story that read, “When you are so accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence. You will have no voice, no spine.”
JigraFans have been enjoying this unfolding drama, with many taking to Reddit to share their thoughts. One user humorously remarked, “Bollywood e lafda, I repeat Bollywood e lafda is happening.”
Another commenter noted, “Both sides are powerful, so no one can do the victim Rona dhona. This is glorious drama.” Many expressed their appreciation for the straightforward nature of the conflict, with one person stating, “This lafda is such a breath of fresh air. No passive aggression, no mincing words and sly jabs. Khullam khulla takrar.”
As for Jigra, the film is experiencing a lackluster performance at the box office, reportedly earning ₹11 crore within its first two days, despite one of those days being the Dussehra holiday.
Directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Jigra marks one of Alia Bhatt's weakest openings in recent years. As this feud continues, fans are left wondering how it might impact the careers involved.
