The Homebound premiere in Mumbai, India’s official entry to the 2026 Oscars, was already buzzing with star power, but Janhvi Kapoor added a personal twist to the evening.

The actress, who headlines the film, was spotted posing with boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya’s family. Cameras caught her alongside Shikhar’s parents and his grandfather, veteran politician and former Home Affairs Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.

It was a rare public moment that instantly drew chatter, with many seeing it as Janhvi’s quiet acknowledgment of her bond with Shikhar’s family.

The night carried extra sentiment for Janhvi. She draped herself in a royal blue and black pashmina saree once worn by her late mother, Sridevi, at Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding reception. Fans online quickly noticed the emotional tribute. “She’s her mom’s mirror image,” one user wrote, while another commented, “Sridevi would be proud tonight.”
