Actor Xolo Maridueña has officially joined the live-action series One Piece to play Portgas D. Ace in Season 3, Netflix announced on Wednesday. The 24-year-old actor is best known for his roles in Blue Beetle (2023) and the hit series Cobra Kai.
Based on the wildly successful manga series by Eiichiro Oda, which debuted in 1997, the show was given the go-ahead for a third season in August. One Piece has a huge global fan base and is one of the oldest Japanese manga series.
One of the most recent cast members is Xolo. Recently, the show also announced that Broadway star Cole Escola will join as the theatrical assassin Bon Clay in Season 3.
Who is Xolo Maridueña?Maridueña has worked with Netflix prior to this, starring as Miguel Diaz in all six seasons of Cobra Kai, the action-packed series based on the Karate Kid franchise. During Geeked Week 2024, he appeared as a special correspondent alongside his co-star Jacob Bertrand.
Xolo began his career as a child actor, playing Victor Graham in the NBC drama Parenthood (2012–2015). He rose to wider fame for his role as Miguel Diaz in Cobra Kai (2018–2025) and later starred as Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle in the DC superhero film Blue Beetle (2023).

Meanwhile, the One Piece live-action series stars Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji, completing the main crew for the show’s ongoing adventures.
