Voice actor Jim Ward passed away on Wednesday, December 10, due to complications from advanced Alzheimer. He was 66. He had lent his voice to several popular cartoon characters and video games.
Jim's wife, Janice, confirmed his passing to TMZ. She revealed that Jim had passed away at 10:45 AM. The veteran voice actor was being treated in Los Angeles at Silverado Beverly Place Memory Care at the time of his passing.
Arlene Thornton, who had been Jim’s agent since the early 1980s, told the outlet, "His ability to improvise on the spot as well as his dead-on impressions were beyond impressive. He was a one man comedy show every time he came to the office to do his auditions."
The host of The Stephanie Miller Show, Stephanie Miller, Stephanie Miller, confirmed Jim’s death on social media. Jim Ward had also co-hosted and was an announcer for 13 years until 2017.
She took to her X and tweeted, "One of the saddest messages I have ever received from the amazing Mrs Jim Ward: Our wonderful 'voice deity' as Steph anointed Jim Ward, passed away today at 10:45AM. Can you let Steph know? Thanks, Janice.”
Jim will be remembered by fans as the voice actor for Doug Dimmadome and Chet Ubetcha from The Fairly OddParents, a popular Nickelodeon animated series. This happened after he debuted in the video game scene in 1993, being included in Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin.
His video game credits also include Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Call of Duty, among others.
