“Matlock” actor David Del Rio has been dismissed from the CBS series after a sexual assault allegation was made against him, Variety confirmed.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Del Rio was escorted off the set last week after the studio conducted an internal investigation into the claim. The reported incident involved a female cast member on the show.
So far, about half of the show’s second season has been filmed, with a planned production break scheduled for next week. Following the complaint, the studio acted immediately—Del Rio was fired and removed from the lot on the same day the alleged assault was reported, which is believed to have been October 2.
Sources say that executive producer Eric Christian Olsen was among those who personally escorted the actor from the premises.
Del Rio played Billy Martinez, a first-year associate at the law firm Jacobson Moore, and his character will now be written out of upcoming episodes.

“Matlock” stars Kathy Bates as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian attorney who returns to the workforce at a top law firm, using her intelligence and charm to win cases while pursuing a personal mystery of her own.
The show, which received a quick renewal after its debut in October 2024, is set to premiere its second season on CBS on October 12.
