DJ Fat Tony, who performed at Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham’s lavish April 2022 wedding, has opened up about an uncomfortable moment on the dance floor that later became a focal point in the broader Beckham family drama. In a recent interview on the British daytime show This Morning, Fat Tony walked through what happened during the much-discussed first dance segment of the reception.
In a conversation with ITV’s This Morning, DJ Fat Tony said, "There was no slutdropping, there was no black cat PVC catsuits, there was no Spice Girl action."
He added, "What it was, was – and why I said it was inappropriate as well – was because it was the timing. What happened was, basically, Marc Anthony was performing on stage, he then called Brooklyn onto stage."
DJ Fat Tony shared, "Brooklyn went onto the stage, and the next minute everyone’s expecting it to be Nicola to go up and do the first dance, and then Marc asked for the most beautiful woman in the room to come to the stage – and then he says, ‘Victoria, come to the stage’."

He continued, "So Victoria is by the stage, she goes onto the stage, and at that point Brooklyn is devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife. Nicola leaves the room crying her eyes out."
DJ Fat Tony added, "Brooklyn is stuck there on stage, and they do this dance, and Marc Anthony says ‘put your hands on your mother’s hips’ and it was a Latin thing, and the whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room."
Earlier, Brooklyn Beckham addressed the controversial moment at his April 2022 wedding in a series of Instagram posts, saying that his mother “hijacked” what was supposed to be his first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham by appearing on stage instead, leaving him feeling “uncomfortable” and “humiliated” in front of their 500 guests.
He wrote that the dance — which was called by performer Marc Anthony but ended up involving Victoria Beckham — was “very inappropriate” and not what he or Nicola had planned for their special moment. Brooklyn said he had never felt more uncomfortable in his life and chose to renew their vows in 2025 to create new memories of joy rather than anxiety and embarrassment from that day. Many online posts quoted him saying that his mother’s action took away from the romantic moment meant for his wife and left deep emotional effects on the couple.
