Actor and martial artist Jackie Chan has recently become a victim of a death hoax. Several social media posts have been swirling around the internet about his death, with some even claiming that his wife and daughter verified the information.

However, Jackie Chan’s death news turned out to be just rumours.

The rumours started after a person wrote on Facebook on Monday, November 10, “Today, the most beloved person in the world cinema, all of our hearts, has passed away, especially our generation, a worthy actor, a great Kung Fu player, the man with a funny laugh, Jackie Chan, has passed away.”

The post was accompanied by an image of Jackie Chan on a hospital bed. The post instantly went viral on other social media platforms.

However, this is not the first time that Jackie Chan has become a victim of the death hoax. A widely shared photo claimed that Jackie Chan passed away in a flood in Beijing in August 2025.

Even though it looked like the actor, the image that was making the rounds online was later verified to be artificial intelligence (AI)-generated.

Additionally, the veteran actor addressed similar rumours in 2015, saying, "I was shocked by two news reports when I got off the plane. First of all, don’t worry! I’m still alive. Second, don’t believe the scam on Weibo using my name about the Red Pockets."

On the work front, Jackie Chan was recently seen in The Shadow’s Edge, which hit theatres in August 2025. The film topped the Chinese Box Office.

In early October, the actor shared a photo of himself hanging out with Shaquille O'Neal and David Beckham on social media to further engage with his fans. The previous month, he shared the stage with the K-pop group Seventeen.
