Salman Khan is already provided with Y Plus security and last year his security was also reviewed after fresh threats were given to him in November 2023.

Police is trying to track down the two unknown men.  A bullet also hit the first floor of Salman Khan’s building, police said. According to police, a foreign pistol has been used in the firing.

The Bandra police are also checking the CCTV footage and surrounding area. There is always tight security outside the actor’s home due to the threats. He has been staying in the same building with his parents since long.

Fresh footage from Salman Khan’s home has also come where the forensic team is searching for more clues of the firing.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey, spoke with new agency ANI and said that ‘no one is feeling safe in Mumbai.’

He told ANI: "Whether it is Salman Khan or any common man, no one is feeling safe in Mumbai and Maharashtra. You have seen that recently there was a firing in Mumbai and an MLA fired…”

Bishnoi, who is currently in jail, has issued many threats to Salman Khan in the past as well. He had even admitted to having sent threats to the actor.

In a statement to the NIA in 2022, Bishnoi had admitted that he wants to kill Salman Khan. “In 2018, I sent a message to Sampat Nehra Salman Khan has hurt our religious sentiments by killing Black Buck, so he should be killed,” Bishnoi had said this to NIA. Sampat was nabbed by Haryana police.
In November 2023, Salman Khan had received death threats on Facebook from an account claiming to be of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Though the post at that time was directed to Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal but it later mentioned Bollywood actor Salman Khan too.

The post read: “You consider Salman Khan a brother, but now it's time for your 'brother' to come and save you," read the Facebook post addressed to Gippy Grewal. "This message is also for Salman Khan - don't be in the illusion that Dawood will save you; no one can save you. Your dramatic response to Sidhu Moose Wala's death did not go unnoticed.

"We all know the kind of person he was and the criminal associations he had. You've now landed on our radar. Consider this a trailer; the full film will be released soon. Flee to any country you wish, but remember, death doesn't require a visa; it comes uninvited." His security was reviewed post that.
