HBO is bringing a brand-new Harry Potter series, and the network has an exciting update. Warner Bros Discovery has confirmed that the upcoming HBO Original Harry Potter television series has officially kicked off production.
The official social media account of Warner Bros shared the first official look at the new Harry Potter, played by Dominic McLaughlin, while announcing the production commencement. In the pic, Dominic sported the iconic Harry Potter cape with his signature glasses. He held the clapboard in his hands.
The first look pic has created a buzz among the fans with sending them into a frenzy.
However, the latest production announcement also shared a disappointing update. The series was originally teased to premiere sometime in 2026 on HBO Max. However, the studio has now confirmed it will release in 2027.
However, the makers have also previously announced some of the additional cast members, including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.
Meanwhile, Alastair Stout will portray Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton will play the role of Hermione Granger in the HBO franchise, which is set to run for a decade.

The new TV show will use the same studios as their production, the ones at the Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, UK.
