Anne Hathaway's starrer thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, Verity, is currently under production, but fans have to wait for more to witness it on the big screen.
The film was initially set to hit the worldwide theatres on May 15, 2026, but the makers have pushed the film to a bit later in 2026. Amazon MGM Studios has recently announced the new release date of Michael Showalter’s directorial film.
Verity will now release on October 2, 2026, in worldwide theatres. The film features an ensemble cast including Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordóva and Brady Wagner.
The film will face stiff competition with director Alejandro Iñárritu’s untitled Warner Bros. movie starring Tom Cruise, which is set to hit the theatres on the same day.
The upcoming film is produced by Anne Hathaway and Collen Hoover, Michael Showalter, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher and Jordana Mollick. Nick has also penned the script of Verity.

The studio had previously teased the film and released the trailer to Verity at CinemaCon back in April at their first big splash in Caesars Palace Colosseum Theatre.
Verity will revolve around a struggling writer, Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson, who is hired by Jeremy Crawford, aka Josh Hartnett, to complete the remaining books in a series penned by his wife, author Verity Crawford, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, after she suffers a mysterious accident. The plot takes a dramatic turn when Lowen soon learns that a secret, unfinished manuscript may reveal clues about the family’s past.
