Firing at Salman Khan's home, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde talks to the actor

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called Bollywood actor Salman Khan after the firing incident that happened in the wee hours of Sunday at his Galaxy apartments.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde called and spoke with Bollywood actor Salman Khan, outside whose house two gunshots were fired on Sunday morning.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called Bollywood actor Salman Khan after the firing incident that happened in the wee hours of Sunday at his Galaxy apartments.

CM Shinde spoke with Salman Khan over phone and asked about his well being. According to news agency ANI, Shinde also had discussions with the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

CM has also suggested the security outside Salman Khan's home be beefeed up following the incident that has shaken the film industry as well.

The tweet by ANI on X (formerly Twitter) read: "Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had a telephone conversation with Salman Khan after two unidentified men opened fire outside the actor's residence in Bandra, Mumbai.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had discussions with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and suggested increasing the security of Salman Khan."

Two unidentified gunmen had fired five rounds of bullets at Salman Khan's residence in Bandra where he stays with his elderly parents for many years.

The incident occured in the morning at 5 am and the two gunmen fled from the scene.

According to another report in ETimes, a source told the site that Salman Khan is safe and inside his house only.

"There is unsaid tension inside the Khan household. He has to be extra cautious from now on as this incident has scared everybody in Bollywood," the source told ETimes.

Salman Khan has been advised to avoid public appearances in the near future.

The police and forensic department is at Salman Khan's residence to check on the footage and get any clues of the unidentified men. Police officials said that the men had used foreign pistols for the incident. The rounds were fired in the air and the two escaped on a bike.

Salman Khan has in the past too received death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and he had himself accepted to have wanted to 'kill Salman Khan'.

Salman Khan has Y plus security and recently his security was reviewed too following fresh threats issued against him in 2023.

In November 2023, Salman Khan had received fresh death threats on Facebook. It was an account claiming to be of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Though the post at that time was directed to Gippy Grewal but it later mentioned Bollywood actor Salman Khan too.

The post read: “You consider Salman Khan a brother, but now it's time for your 'brother' to come and save you," read the Facebook post addressed to Gippy Grewal. "This message is also for Salman Khan - don't be in the illusion that Dawood will save you; no one can save you. Your dramatic response to Sidhu Moose Wala's death did not go unnoticed.

"We all know the kind of person he was and the criminal associations he had. You've now landed on our radar. Consider this a trailer; the full film will be released soon. Flee to any country you wish, but remember, death doesn't require a visa; it comes uninvited."
