Schedule conflicts between the main actors have been frequently cited as the cause of the project's numerous delays since it was first announced.

Farhan Akhtar has finally broken his silence on the much-talked-about status of Jee Le Zaraa, the highly anticipated film that was announced back in 2021 with Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif in the lead.

Schedule conflicts between the main actors have been frequently cited as the cause of the project's numerous delays since it was first announced. As time went on, rumours intensified, with many people assuming that the movie had been quietly put on hold, especially since there had been no significant updates for the previous four years.

When asked about the progress of the film and whether it is shelved, Farhan said, “I would hate to say that it’s shelved. What I will say is that it’s put on a backburner. It is a film that will happen. I don’t know when it will be. But it’s too delicious a script." He further stated that it’s just on hold currently, and that the film will definitely happen.

He further added, “And there’s so much work that has already been done on it. I finished all the location scouts, have recorded music for the film. All of the stuff is done. So it’s just a matter of time that we need to, we’ll get back to it again. I can’t comment on the cast on that anymore. But will the film happen? The film will happen."

Farhan Akhtar clarified that Jee Le Zaraa is still alive and hasn't been put on hold in order to allay any doubts. The director clarified in an interview with the YouTube channel Our Stupid Reactions that although he is unable to confirm the current cast lineup at this time and is uncertain if the actors who were initially announced will continue to work on the project, the movie itself is unquestionably going to happen.

He continued by disclosing that a significant amount of preparatory work, such as location scouting and music composition, has already been completed on the project, confirming the team's intention to move the movie forward.

Farhan assured fans that even if the casting changes, the concept behind Jee Le Zaraa will eventually be adapted for the big screen, despite his refusal to reveal a release date.

Fans who have been anxiously awaiting an update on the road trip movie, which was viewed as a female-led alternative to Farhan's beloved Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, have found hope again thanks to this announcement.

According to some reports, Jee Le Zara is a road trip movie that is reminiscent of the popular Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which starred Abhay Deol and Hrithik Roshan. Katrina and Priyanka are allegedly no longer in the movie, according to earlier rumours.
