Award-winning singer and songwriter Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19, leaving a void in the Indian music industry. Following his demise, several fans gathered outside the late Zubeen Garg's home to pay their respects to the musical legend.

Fans of all ages have flocked to his Assam home with candles, flowers, and handwritten notes ever since the sad news made headlines. Photos and videos of the scene have been widely shared on social media, demonstrating the extent of his influence on people in India and beyond.

The well-known Assamese singer Zubeen Garg died in a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. According to reports, the singer was quickly rescued and taken to a hospital after falling into the sea while diving.


Zubeen Garg passed away from his wounds in spite of the medical staff's best efforts. He had extended a warm invitation to the 4th North East India Festival to his fans just one day prior to his tragic passing.

Singaporean authorities have launched an investigation into the accident's circumstances.

The singer performed in more than 40 languages and dialects, including Bishnupriya Manipuri, Adi, Boro, English, Goalpariya, Kannada, Karbi, Khasi, Malayalam, Marathi, Mising, Nepali, Odia, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Tiwa, even though his primary work was in Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi films and music.

He played twelve instruments, including anandalahari, dhol, dotara, drums, guitar, harmonica, harmonium, mandolin, keyboard, tabla, and other percussion instruments. He was the highest-paid singer in Assam.

Zubeen Garg is survived by his wife, Garima Saikia, a fashion designer from Golaghat, Assam, whom he married on 4 February 2002.
