Coupang Play has found itself at the center of criticism after a promotional teaser for its variety show Sister’s Cafe appeared to leave out an EXO member.

The platform recently dropped a new teaser announcing EXO as the next guests on the original series. Six members participated in the episode, but fans were quick to notice something off. The official thumbnail featured only five members, completely omitting Chanyeol, despite him being present in the shoot.

Fan complaints erupted almost immediately, prompting Coupang Play to swiftly update the thumbnail to include all six members. But the fix sparked a second wave of reactions as fans observed that Chanyeol’s head appeared unusually large in the edited version, triggering even more mockery online. The platform eventually corrected the image a second time.

While fans interpreted the omission as deliberate arguing that the production team knew exactly how many members were attending, general netizen sentiment was noticeably different. Many commenters felt that given Chanyeol’s past controversies, some producers or editors may simply be hesitant about prominently featuring him.

“From a fan’s perspective, you could be mad, but from a woman’s perspective, they have the right to dislike him,” commented a fan. “They fixed it because fans complained, but the first edit made his head too big — they had to redo it LOL,” remarked another.
