Exclusive: Vaalvi wins Best Marathi Film Award at 70th National Film Awards 2024, Swapnil Joshi says, "I am very glad the film chose me"

Marathi actor Swapnil Joshi is filled with immense joy and gratitude after his film Vaalvi won the Best Marathi Film Award at the 70th National Film Awards in 2024. In an exclusive interview, Swapnil shared his heartfelt feelings about this significant achievement in his career. "There is special happiness when you win a national film award. It is a special thing for me," he said, reflecting on the honor that came with this recognition.

Vaalvi marks a milestone in Swapnil's career, as it is his first film to win a National Award. He expressed his admiration for the film's director, Paresh Mokashi, saying, "I had a dream to work with Paresh Mokashi. I got the film, and such a role came into my life." Vaalvi a dark comedy thriller directed by Paresh Mokashi and produced by Madhugandha Kulkarni, was released in January 2023. The film, which stars Swapnil Joshi, Anita Date Kelkar, Subodh Bhave, and Shivani Surve, revolves around a complex plot of a married man, Aniket (played by Swapnil Joshi), and his mistress who conspire to kill his wife, Avani (played by Anita Date Kelkar), in a fake suicide pact. However, as the plan unfolds, things don't go as expected, leading to unexpected twists and turns.

The film was praised for its intriguing narrative and the performances of its cast, which kept the audience engaged from start to finish.
