The television serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was a big hit during the 2000s. It had captivated Indian audiences for years, and Ekta Kapoor is all set to bring the iconic serial back to television.
Additionally, Ekta Kapoor has sent the fans into a frenzy with the reports of the revival of the original on-screen pair, Amar Upadhyay and Smriti Irani, in the upcoming show.
According to Pinkvilla, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is currently in the works. It is reported to be a limited series. However, Ektaa and her team have kept further details tightly under wraps.
The reports have further revealed that the former Minister Smriti Irani will reportedly reprise her iconic role. Additionally, the new series is also speculated to recreate the show's memorable opening scene.
Amar Upadhyay was returned to television with a new series, Doree, but quit the show. However, Amar’s departure from the show fueled further speculations of him returning in the revival show.
Ekta Kapoor is expected to make an official announcement on the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi revival in June 2025.

For the unversed, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi first premiered in 2000 and enjoyed a successful eight-year run. The series was set in Gujarat and revolved around Tulsi (Smriti Irani), a devoted daughter-in-law, and her marriage to Mihir Virani (Amar Upadhyay), a wealthy businessman's grandson, as they navigated life's challenges together.
The iconic series notably helped Smriti Irani to hit overnight stardom, making her a household name.
