Soon-to-be mom Drashti Dhami is rewriting the rules of pregnancy. While many women opt for rest and relaxation during this special time, the actress is proving that staying active is not only possible but beneficial.
Drashti Dhami is setting a powerful example for expectant mothers everywhere with her latest workout video on Instagram. The actress has shared a glimpse into her pregnancy fitness routine, proving that staying active during this special time is not only achievable but also empowering.
The actress emphasized on dismissing stereotypes that often restrict expectant mothers from staying active. She wrote in the caption, "Baby on the way? 9-12 mahine ki chutti from working out? I don’t think so! We’ve all heard, “bhaari wazan nahi uthao”, “bass ab aaram karo, khao piyo…”—- but it doesn’t have to be that way!"
By showcasing her workout routine, Drashti pointed out that pregnant ladies who work out have lesser chances of complications during the delivery of their baby. "In fact, exercise is not dangerous for your baby. There is evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour," she continued.
In fact, the Madhubala actress also shared the benefits of consulting healthcare professionals before embarking on any exercise regimen and highlighted the potential benefits of a balanced approach to physical activity during pregnancy.
"Working out under the guidance of a trained professional has many benefits, including:
• Increased Energy
• Less weight gain during pregnancy
• Preparation for the physical demands of labour
• Faster recuperation after delivery
• Boost in baby’s neuromotor skills
• Reduced back & pelvic pain
& more! Give this a go yourself to feel the benefits, ladies."
She concluded the post with a disclaimer and stressed consulting professionals before adopting any workout regime. She wrote, "Disclaimer: Every pregnancy is different, so please perform these exercises after consulting your doctor AND under the guidance of a trained & experienced professional."
By maintaining her fitness routine, Drashti is challenging the misconception that pregnancy equates to complete physical inactivity.
