The premiere episode of Too Much With Kajol And Twinkle is shaping up to be a heartfelt one, as Salman Khan and Kajol revisited their first-ever encounter and shared memories of Kajol’s late father, filmmaker Somu Mukherjee.
Kajol revealed that she first met Salman Khan on the sets of her father’s film Sangdil Sanam. With a smile, she recalled, “I said Hi Uncle. I was just 12.” The lighthearted anecdote quickly gave way to an emotional moment when Salman remembered his close bond with Somu Mukherjee.
Salman shared, “Her father and I used to be very close. He used to be home almost twice a week. In fact, just days before he passed away, two days before he passed away, he had come home, with same energy, wearing his same lungi and he was going through a troubled patch and he wasn’t feeling well. He said ‘yaar aik drink pila.’ I said no Somu da. I am going in one or two days yaa. I was shocked. He said ‘pila de aik mere ko.’ I didn’t know what to do. He said ‘pila yaar.’ Then I made him a drink and then two days later he was no more.”
A visibly moved Aamir Khan asked Salman if Somu Mukherjee had been unwell at the time. Kajol quietly nodded, adding weight to the memory.
Salman went on to emphasize how much respect he held for Kajol’s family, calling them one of the finest in the film industry. “He was very close to dad as well. And my father has got great regards for the whole family. He said one of the nicest families of the film industry is the Mukherjee family.”
Kajol, clearly touched, simply responded with a heartfelt, “Thank you.”
This exchange, both nostalgic and emotional, added depth to the conversation between the stars. It not only highlighted Salman’s long-standing connection with Kajol’s family but also revealed a rarely seen softer side of the actor.
Too Much With Kajol And Twinkle premieres September 25 on Amazon Prime Video, promising moments that blend humor, candor, and heartfelt storytelling.
