Singer and actor Diljit Singh has recently collaborated with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir for their upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3. The actor failed to receive the expected reception from the audience, as they demanded a ban on the project for the Pakistani actress’ involvement amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack.
While Diljit is widely promoting his film with Aamir, he is avoiding addressing the controversy directly. However, he seems to have subtly talked about the ban of one of his films. He re-shared on fan’s post on his Instagram, with the title, ‘Censored Before Release’.

The post featured the details of Diljit’s other banned film, Punjab 95. The film has been delayed for over a year and is yet to be released in India. The post praised Diljit's performance and his boldness to bring Jaswant Singh Khalra’s story to life. The film revolves around Jaswant’s mission to expose the Punjab Police’s illegal killings of Sikh youth during the 1990s militancy.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview with Recording Academy President Panos A. Panay, Diljit shared that music unites nations. He also suggested that he feels people need to look beyond nations and focus on Mother Earth.

The singer and actor shared that the art has no boundaries and said, “Countries are at war, and we don’t have control over these things. But I believe music is something that unites nations. I feel blessed to be part of something that spreads love across nations.”
Diljit continued, “I think we need to look beyond nations and focus on Mother Earth. All these borders are part of the same Mother Earth, and I belong to her." He also quoted a line taught by his Guru, and said, “'Hum aadmi hain ek daami’, meaning ‘We humans are here only for a brief moment.’ We are here for very limited time, we should not waste our time fighting with each other.”
Sardaar Ji 3 is set for overseas release on June 27.
