Dhanush and Nayanthara avoid each other as they attend the wedding of Idli Kadai's producer

Tamil actors Dhanush and Nayanthara were spotted at a wedding function recently, and they both avoided each other.

Nayanthara arrived for the wedding of Idli Kadai's producer Aakash Baskaran with her husband and director Vignesh Shivan. Dhanush ignored the presence of Nayanthara at the wedding function.

Both she and Dhanush were seated in the front row, while Nayanthara was seen interacting with a guest. Dhanush was seated in the other row but didn't talk to the actress at all.

Aakash, who is producing Dhanush's next venture, Idli Kadai, got married earlier this week.

In a video of the function that has now gone viral, it shows Nayanthara dressed in a heavy saree with her hair tied in a bun, entering the venue with her husband. She greets the guests at the function and later is seen seated in the front row.

Dhanush, who is seated near the actress, ignores her presence completely. This was the first time after the open letter by Nayanthara that she was seen at the same function with Dhanush in public.

For those who are unaware of the controversy, Dhanush, who was the producer of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, has sued Nayanthara for using BTS footage from his film in her documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the FairyTale without availing of an NOC (No Objection Certificate).

The actress then wrote an open letter to the actor where she mentioned that she had been following up with Dhanush's team for two years for the NOC, but he did not respond.

Dhanush's lawyers have reacted to it, and his father, Kasthuri Raja, also spoke about the entire controversy where his son is being blamed.

According to The Times of India’s Samayam, Kasthuri Raja said that Nayanthara’s claims of following up with Dhanush for two years are false. He also added that Dhanush is busy with his upcoming projects and doesn’t have the time to react to her claims. In the statement, Kasthuri also added that he was unaware of Nayanthara’s relationship with Vignesh Shivan until much after Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was released.

The documentary is streaming on Netflix, and it did feature footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’s making. Dhanush's lawyer has asked the makers to remove the footage.
