Deepika Padukone likely to walk out of Kalki 2 due to shorter work hours demand, report

Actress Deepika Padukone had decided to walk out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's much-talked-about movie Spirit starring Prabhas, over an eight-hour work shift.

Now there are reports, according to an Instagram page called Bollywood.mobi, that Deepika Padukone has been demanding shorter work hours post motherhood and it has reportedly led to “friction on sets".

The report further suggested that the makers of Kalki 2 are also thinking of either recuding or completely removing Deepika's role from the movie's sequel.

Though there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now.

Deepika Padukone has decided to cut short her working hours after becoming a mom last year in September. The actress received support in Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn and Pankaj Tripathi who felt that it is a fair demand.

Earlier, it was also reported that the Animal director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had also removed Deepika Padukone from Spirit owing to this condition of her.

According to reports, besides the demands for an eight-hour shift, Deepika also sought a higher salary, and a share in the film’s profits. These demands reportedly  did not go well with Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga had also lashed out indirectly at Deepika and accused her of playing ‘dirty PR games’. “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are…Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it," Vanga wrote and then added, “Aisa karo…. Agli baar poori kahani bolna… kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames. I like this kahawath very much खुंदक में बिल्ली खंबा नोचे !"

After Deepika’s exit from the movie, Triptii Dimri will now be a part of the Vanga directorial venture.

The actress, who previously worked with the director in Animal, confirmed her role as the female lead in ‘Spirit’ through a post on social media.

She posted a picture of the title poster with her name. Expressing her gratitude, she wrote, “Still sinking in… So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga… Honoured to be a part of your vision."

Spirit has Prabhas in the lead and Tripti Dimri will reunite with Vanga after Animal.
