Film exhibitor Akshay Rathi stated, "Thangalaan had a limited release, but in the screen count that it has, it's actually catching up. It's going from strength to strength. Word of mouth will spread, and more people will take to it quickly."
The overwhelmingly positive reception from critics and audiences alike has propelled the film's popularity in the North, positioning it as a surprise hit.

Directed by Pa. Ranjith and featuring Chiyaan Vikram and Malavika Mohanan, Thangalaan was released globally on August 15, 2024, in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The Hindi version of the film was subsequently released on September 6. The film's soundtrack is composed by the talented G.V. Prakash Kumar.
