Global pop sensation BTS has once again claimed the title of the most-streamed K-pop artist worldwide, according to Spotify Wrapped's 2024 rankings, revealed on December 4. The group has maintained their unchallenged dominance on the platform since 2018, a testament to their enduring popularity.
Remarkably, BTS continues to break records and captivate audiences despite not releasing a new album since 2022, with Proof being their latest offering. Their consistent streaming success highlights the group's powerful global fanbase, ARMY, and the timeless appeal of their music.
BTS holds the distinction of being the only Asian act with 100 songs surpassing 100 million streams each, joining global icons like Drake and Bad Bunny in achieving this milestone. Furthermore, three of their albums, including Love Yourself: Tear, boast all tracks exceeding 100 million streams, a rare achievement shared with The Weeknd.
Despite their hiatus due to mandatory military service, BTS continues to dominate the music scene, with members excelling in their solo careers. Jungkook’s Golden and Jimin’s MUSE have garnered widespread acclaim. Jimin’s track “WHO” became the most-streamed solo song by an Asian artist globally on Spotify, ranking 17th, while Jungkook’s hits “Seven” and “Standing Next To You” secured the 28th and 34th spots, respectively. Jungkook also made history as the first Asian soloist to have multiple songs simultaneously featured on the Spotify Wrapped List.
In 2024, BTS continued to solidify their global influence with remarkable achievements. The group surpassed 39 billion cumulative streams and made history as their iconic track "Spring Day" became the first song on Melon to reach one billion streams. Additionally, their chart-topping hit "Dynamite" earned quintuple platinum certification in the US, marking it as the highest-certified single by any South Korean group to date.
